I have a passion for lighthouses.
My name is Joan Nicholes, age 55 and a breast cancer survivor.
I am a grandmother to three wonderful and facinating grandchildren. I love to spend as much time with them as I can.
Some of my hobbies include: crocheting, loom knitting, cross-stitch, plastic canvas, scrapbooking & cardmaking.
I have done some traveling in the past, I have visited some truly spectacular places such as: New York, California, Colorado, Hawaii, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Orleans, Carribean Islands and several other places with my family as a child. It has been over 5 years sincle my last trip, but in my dreams, I go somewhere different every day.
Many years ago, after the loss of my first child, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Depression. I have struggled with it for a very long time. It hasn't been easy for me nor my family, as it impacts everyone around me.
Five years ago, I lost my job because of the disease. I was shortly, therafter, put on disability.
With proper medications and regular visits to my doctor, my depression is now under control. I no longer have suicidal tendancies. My life is falling back into place and is now stable. It was a long battmle. One which I am glad is now behind me. I can now move forward with the next phase of my life.
That is why I have created What Women Love Retreats.
Every once in a while women's lives get a little off track. It is easy to let depression sink in. But it doesn't have to stay that way.
You can take a few days to regroup, become focused again on the things that are important in your life. Family, friends, career. Whatever it is you can rejuvenate your inner self with a relaxing message, a manicure or pedicure, a new hairstyle or make-over.
It's amazing what a few days can do for you.
You can travel to new places you've never been before. A new retreat happens every two weeks. You can make new acquaintances that can become life-long friends. You can learn new crafts, receive great spa products, go bicycling, or walk or jog on the trails. Swim in pristine waters of a beach or pool.
Just take some me time and rediscover who you are.
You are amazing.
